Hi, my name is Darci and I will be a senior at the University of Michigan this upcoming fall semester. I am currently majoring in Evolutionary Anthropology with minors in Medical Anthropology and History of Art (my studies might seem a little ‘eclectic’, but I love what I study and it all comes together to connect in one way or another). I will be applying to Public/Global Health graduate schools soon and hope to have a career that merges my passions for anthropology, health, and social justice.

I have just completed my first year as a member of GlobeMed at UM (so I am still fairly new to the organization). But in all honesty, I am in love...with GlobeMed, that is!! I am currently the director of communications for our chapter and feel extremely proud to be part of this passionate national student organization. I only wish that I had joined sooner!

While my studies are fairly concentrated in the humanities and sciences, I am a huge dance dork! (No really, I geek-out with even the slightest foot-tap!) I have been on the University of Michigan Ballroom Dance Team since I was a freshman, have trained in ballet since I was itty-bitty, and absolutely love salsa, bachata, and merengue.

I am so extremely excited to be a part of this GROW internship and can’t wait to see you there!
